The Starbright Sholaces brand board below was provided to me. My task was to design and letter a word based on one of the brand's four words: shoe, lace, loop, and neon. I chose to work with lace.

Since I chose to work with the word “LACE” for this project, I decided to design the letters based on the look of shoelaces while also maintaining the brand’s modern style and identity. I tried to incorporate shoelace roping and aglets into most of my designs, focusing on combining shoelace characteristics with typography to spell the word.

I ultimately chose to develop sketch #30 because it makes sense, as it features two shoelaces for two shoes. I also liked the simplicity of the design. Based on sketch #30, I developed four separate sketches, each containing a letter.

After that, I vectorized each letter in Adobe Illustrator.

Lastly, I put the letters together to spell out the word "lace," connecting the L and A and the C and E.
